Spartans Streak Past The Mustangs: HS Basketball-January 14

It was a tale of turnovers between the Lakeview Spartans and the Portage Central Mustangs, but the Spartans would earn their first victory of the season 48-42 Tuesday night. Both squads used full court pressure to force turnovers, but the Mustangs accumulated 38 of them on the night, while the Spartans were able to claw their way into the lead with strong shooting from the free throw line, shooting 18-of-29 on the night.

Junior Dayton Johnson led the Spartans (1-5) with 12 points on the night, including eight in the final quarter. Senior Hunter Bost added nine, while TJ Fisk scored eight in his first action of the season.

Sophomore Austin McCullough scored 13 points coming off the bench to lead all scorers for the Mustangs (1-5).
