A New Year, A New Season: HS Basketball

Just a day or two into 2015 and we get back to the grind of High School Basketball. We enter the second month of the season tonight with a non-conference battle in Union City, as the undefeated Chargers host the St. Philip Tigers. The Tigers are at 2-2, but both wins came in non-divisional battles in the South Central Athletic Association. Their losses both came in non-conference, including a 20-point defeat to fellow Big 8 conference foe Athens. The Chargers have yet to be challenged this season, winning all of their games by 22 or more points. Their closest victories were over Colon (December 9th) and Springport (December 18th) by the 22-point wins.

In the Girls match-up, the Tigers entered the holiday on a loss, falling to Bronson to end a four-game winning streak. The Chargers dropped a 55-30 game to Springport to put them at 2-3 on the year.

Don't forget the annual non-conference games between Marshall and Olivet on Saturday!
