Back To The Panther Pit: HS Basketball – January 20

We are back at Pennfield for the first time since early December, as the Panthers host the upset-minded Mounties of Jackson Northwest tonight. The Panthers will look to avoid their second straight loss, after they dropped a 63-34 decision at home to the Charlotte Orioles Friday. It was only the second loss on the year for the Panthers but it was costly in the Interstate 8, dropping them into a fourth place tie with Charlotte.

The Mounties earned their first I-8 conference win, knocking off the Marshall Redhawks 74-48 on Friday and ending their six-game winning streak to start the season. The squad saw a solid game from senior forward Blake Ryan, who put in 16 points to go with 15 boards.

Here's the rest of the schedule for tonight, which includes a make-up game for Battle Creek Central, Harper Creek hitting the road, and Climax-Scotts and Quincy looking to stay undefeated.
