Beavers Streak Past The Redhawks: HS Basketball

The Harper Creek Beavers used a 16-0 run to start the game to sprint past the Marshall Redhawks Friday in a 79-58 triumph. The win puts the state-ranked Beavers at 8-1 on the season and 5-1 in the Interstate 8, tied with the Jackson Lumen Christi Titans for the conference lead.

Senior James Cadena scored 20 points to go along with seven boards and eight assists in the Harper Creek victory. Senior Khylen Watkins led the Beavers with 21 points and TraVon Johnson added 10, as the senior guard returned from injury.

It's the third straight loss for the Redhawks (6-3), who received a game-high 23 points from Jacob Brubaker. Sophomore Montez Brewer scored 15 and junior TJ Rocco put in nine off the bench in the defeat.
