HS Basketball: Time To Make Up

The final week of January will have several interesting battles on the hardwood, all beginning tonight.

The Pennfield Panthers will host only their third game of the season in a make-up game with the Coldwater Cardinals in Interstate 8 action. The Panthers were able to survive the Jackson Lumen Christi Titans Friday 65-63 in overtime to even their overall record at 4-4. Pennfield sits in a fifth-place tie with the Parma Western Panthers, who they play this Friday on the road and the final game of three games this week.

The Cardinals got off to a hot start, but have since lost three of their last five, including Friday's 73-57 defeat to the Charlotte Orioles. The loss put the teams into a second-place tie in the I-8, just a game behind the conference-leading Marshall Redhawks. Tonight starts a three-game week for Coldwater as well, as they host Quincy Tuesday and Marshall Friday.
