HS Basketball: One More Week, On Hold

Records can almost always be thrown out in games involving two city teams. And it will have to wait for a few days. That is the case again tonight, as the Battle Creek Central Bearcats play host to the Lakeview Spartans to kick off the final week of the Boys Basketball regular season.

In a packed Spartan Gymnasium in January, the Bearcats were able to pull away in the second half to earn a 54-36 victory over the Spartans. The win was part of Central's hot second half of the season, where they have won nine of their last 10 games.

The Spartans have played well since that crosstown game, going 4-4 during that time span. Lakeview has dropped two straight, including a road loss at Gull Lake 64-52 on February 26th.

The two teams were scheduled to play tonight but due to weather it was postponed to Thursday, March 3rd. There are also several other games being rescheduled. That list is down below. Don't forget the Girls Basketball Districts continue Wednesday night!
