HS Basketball: Let’s Have Another Go

Two crosstown rivals had two wait a few extra days before taking the floor against each other tonight. The Battle Creek Central Bearcats play host to the Lakeview Spartans in what will start a busy end to the regular season.

In a packed Spartan Gymnasium in January, the Bearcats were able to pull away in the second half to earn a 54-36 victory over the Spartans. The win was part of Central's hot second half of the season, where they have won nine of their last 10 games.

The Spartans have played well since that crosstown game, going 4-4 during that time span. Lakeview has dropped two straight, including a road loss at Gull Lake 64-52 on February 26th.

Tonight's contest will be the final regular season game for the Bearcats, who open district play at home Monday against Parma Western. The Spartans will travel to Portage Central on Friday to end their regular season, playing on back-to-back nights.
