Bearcats Bench Powers In Win: HS Basketball – March 4

The Battle Creek Central Bearcats used a 17-0 run between the first and second quarter to lead them past the Lakeview Spartans Tuesday 61-50. While Wendell White led the Bearcats with 16 points, Ahmed McKinney scored 11 points and Demetrius Craig added nine points off the bench, part of 38 total points from the Central reserves.

Lakeview started to close the gap in the fourth quarter, trailing 48-40 with 3:36 left, but White's back-to-back threes put the game out of reach. The Spartans received 16 points from senior Hunter Bost, with Donte Tuggle and Nick Adams each chipping in seven.

The Bearcats end the regular season with a 12-8 record and travel to Kalamazoo to take on the Loy Norrix Knights in the Class A District Quarterfinals Monday. Lakeview will head to Holt to take on the Rams in their quarterfinal with a 2-18 record.
