Two of the biggest rivals in the Interstate 8 squared off for the first of two meetings on the hardwood Friday night.

The Pennfield Panthers, under first-year head coach Nate Burns, was still seeking his first victory in his career, but had the tough task of topping an undefeated Marshall Redhawks.

It was also a battle of two sets of brothers, with Jack and Jeremy Luciani for the Redhawks in their second year on varsity against four-year starter Grant Petersen and freshman Ryne Petersen for the Panthers.

The game ended up being determined by one player off the bench for Marshall that set the tone for the rest of the night.
