The Homer Trojans headed into the Michigan High School Athletic Association's Class C Boys Basketball Regional Finals looking to play giant killer again, as they took on the state-ranked Kalamazoo Hackett Fighting Irish Wednesday.

While the Trojans had 6'5" center Brock Ridgeway, the Irish had two 6'6" players in Riley Gallagher and Tyler Oosterbaan to bottle him up as Hackett moved on with a 66-48 score. It's the first Regional title for Hackett since 1969. It's the furthest run for Homer in the postseason in a decade, and their first Regional Final appearance since 2000.

Hackett moves on to 24-0 and on to the State Quarterfinals on Tuesday, as they head to Bangor to take on the Squires of Grandville Calvin Christian.

Homer's season ends at 17-7.
