HS Basketball: Davis’ 29 Leads Harper Over Coldwater

The Interstate 8 has become much more jumbled after Friday night's contests. It included our Game of the Night here on WBCK, as the Harper Creek Beavers were able to pull ahead in the first quarter, staving off several Coldwater Cardinals surges to win 49-43 to end a two-game skid.

Junior guard Jeremiah Davis scored 18 of his game-high 29 points to lead the Beavers (4-3, 3-1 I-8). He would also drain four of Harper's six triples on the night. Senior Keygan Kane would add nine points and senior David Thompson was solid on the boards with nine grabs.

The Cardinals (5-2, 3-1 I-8) received 15 points from junior guard Colin Warner, 13 of them coming in the fourth. Zach Murphy added nine and Brady Beckhusen scored eight and snatched 11 boards in the loss.

Harper's win coupled with Coldwater's loss has now put four teams at 3-1 atop the Interstate 8, after Marshall and Charlotte picked up victories Friday.
