The Pennfield Panthers made their opportunity to win in the second half, but the Coldwater Cardinals stepped up when it mattered Monday night.

The Panthers trailed by seven at the half, took the lead in the third quarter following a 9-1 run, and were outscored 15-7 in overtime to fall to the Cardinals 66-58.

Pennfield (4-5, 2-4 Interstate 8) received 17 points from senior forward Steffen Kinne, while Fran Jamierson added 10 in the loss. Deviare Todd and Grant Petersen each put in eight.

Nate Waterbury scored a game-high 19 points to pace the Cardinals (7-3, 5-2 Interstate 8) off the bench. Brady Beckhusen and Colin Warner also added 18 points each in the victory.
