HS Basketball: Strong 2nd Half Provides Win For Bearcats

The Battle Creek Central Bearcats made their way across town to Lakeview looking for their fourth straight win and to keep pace with Kalamazoo Central in the Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference's East Division race.

They got more than they bargained for, capitalizing on an early second half run and knocking off the hosting Spartans 54-36.

The Bearcats (8-5) held a 20-19 lead at the half, but would receive 13 of a game-high 18 points in the second half from junior Juan Warren to go along with 12 boards. Cyntell Williams added 13 and Julieon Cooper scored 11 in the win.

Jared Fisk scored 11 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the loss for the Spartans (2-8), who dropped their second game. CJ Foster poured in 10 on the night.

Central is off again until February 9th, as they host Portage Northern. Lakeview heads to Harper Creek to battle the Beavers in non-conference action February 2nd, our next High School Basketball Game of the Night.
