The Marshall Lady Redhawks made their way to Otsego Tuesday night looking to advance to the Michigan High School Athletic Association's Class B State Semifinals, but faced a formidable foe in the Cougars of Grand Rapids Catholic Central. The Cougars had reached for the State Quarterfinals for the second straight year, while Marshall returns to the Quarters for the first time since 2013.

The seventh-ranked Redhawks would advance to the semis with a 41-30 victory over the third-ranked Cougars, stopping Catholic Central in the quarterfinals for the second straight season. For Marshall, it becomes their first trip to the semifinals since 1981. Marshall Head Coach Sal Konkle was a junior on the Marshall squad that year.

Marshall now runs up against another state-ranked squad on Friday, as they take on the second-ranked Bay City John Glenn Bobcats at the Breslin Center at Michigan State University. John Glenn is making their first appearance in the Girls Basketball State Semifinals in school history. Tip-off is at 7:50pm.
