The Pennfield Panthers saw a former conference foe in the Parchment Panthers Friday night to wrap up the Michigan High School Athletic Association regular season. In a game that was rescheduled due to snow on Tuesday, our Game of the Night was going to prove perseverance, as Pennfield was play for the second time in three days and Parchment on back-to-back nights.

Pennfield jumped out quickly thanks to four three-pointers and never looked back outside of a scare early in the fourth quarter to earn a 60-54 victory over Parchment. Senior Steffen Kinne and junior Ron Jamierson each scored 17 to lead the way for Pennfield (12-8), who ended the regular season winning eight of their last nine game. Junior Deveiare Todd hit four triples, all in the first quarter, part of 14 points on the night.

Sophomore guard Darrion Turner led all scorers with 22 points to lead Parchment (6-14) in the loss. Senior center Luke Dexter put in 10 points in the losing effort.

The Pennfield Panthers will open the MHSAA postseason on Monday, as they take on the Marshall Redhawks (16-4) at Comstock in the Class B District Quarterfinal. We'll have coverage on 95.3 WBCK-FM Monday night at 7:15pm.

Here are the rest of Friday's scores, including the Girls Basketball District Finals for our area squads.
