HS Football – Beavers Battle the Lancers in District Final

It is down to just five area schools remaining the Michigan High School Athletic Association's playoffs and we return to the lone Battle Creek city squad's home tonight.

Tonight is the ninth meeting between the Harper Creek Beavers and the Stevensville-Lakeshore Lancers in a battle for a Division 3 District title. This battle of two conference champs is the first meeting between the two squads since 2012, when they were members of the Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference.

Even though they were non-divisional battles, tonight's meeting will be first playoff meeting between them since 2009. Lakeshore won 17-14 and defeated the Beavers 38-12 in their other playoff battle in 2005.

Before checking out the preview for tonight's Game of the Night, don't forget that four other teams are in action, with one of them in a Regional Final in 8-Man. Two of the remaining squads continue their Cinderella seasons after making the postseason at 5-4.
