The High School Football season kicked off in grand fashion Thursday night, as the St. Philip Tigers used their air attack to their advantage.

Senior quarterback Brendan Gausselin went 15-for-21 for 373 yards and seven touchdowns while running for another, as the Tigers walloped the Morrice Orioles 65-32. Senior running back Brayden Darr scored on a seven-yard run to open the scoring, while he caught four scoring passes of 20, four, 39 and 29 yards on the night, respectively. Darr also ran for 75 yards on 12 carries.

The Orioles had a strong offense that began to click in the second half. Senior Nick Hart went 17-23 for 277 yards with two TD passes. Senior Jake Rivers went 2-for-3 with an interception before making his way to the receiving corps, catching seven balls for 148 yards with a touchdown. He also scored on a run in the first half, part of his 74 yards on 23 carries, and made 15 tackles on defense.
