The Interstate 8 Conference concludes their conference schedules this week, as a new champion will be crowned.

One of the teams still in the hunt is the Marshall Redhawks, who look to top the Harper Creek Beavers for the first time since 2009. The Redhawks will host the contest tonight, following last year's 16-14 Harper Creek victory to give the Beavers their fifth straight victory over their long time rival.

For Marshall, a win will keep them close in the I-8 race, as they travel the conference-leading Coldwater Cardinals by a game in the standings. The Redhawks are also in the Division 3 state rankings, sitting in the ninth spot. They sit at 6-1 overall and will make their first postseason appearance since 2012.

Harper Creek will look to give themselves an outside chance of making the postseason for the seventh straight season. In order to do that, they have to win both in Marshall and at home against Lansing Everett next week to sit at 5-4. They reached the postseason last year with a 5-4 record and fell to Eaton Rapids in a Division 4 District Final.

Join me and Jim Hughes tonight in the City of Hospitality at 6:35pm on WBCK, online at and on the RadioPup app on your smartphone!
