Weather was not an issue for the victorious team in the Michigan High School Athletic Assocation's Division 2 Regional Finals Friday night. The Lakeview Spartans, geared with a ground game to overcome cold and snowy nights like this, did not finish on top.

The hosting Muskegon Mona Shores Sailors would show that they are deserving of the number three ranked in the division, blasting the Spartans 39-0. The Purple and White were able to hold the Sailors to just 13 points at the half, but Mona Shores signal caller Tyree Jackson went on for a show in the second half. The four-year starter and University of Buffalo-verbal commit would toss for 323 yards through the air with two touchdowns. He would also run for 98 yards and three scores. A Zach Hellman interception in the third quarter was returned for another touchdown would round out the scoring.

Malik Schrad ran for 45 yards on the night for the Spartans, who end their season at 9-2 and reaching the Regionals for the first time since 1983.
