The Michigan High School Athletic Association's football postseason rolls on into the Regional Finals stage for 11-man football this week. For the Lakeview Spartans, it's the first time since 1983 that they have made it to this stage. While the Spartans offense has been able to manage the clock with their superb ground game, the defense has been stout while allowing seven point or less in five of their last six games. They were able to avenge their only loss of the season in the District Finals, knocking off the Portage Northern Huskies at home 21-0.

Lakeview now hits the road to battle the third-ranked Muskegon Mona Shores Sailors, who are only in their second postseason in school history. After last year's elimination in the District Semifinals, the Sailors are 10-1 and have ran off eight straight wins following their Week 3 loss to Rockford. They are led by senior quarterback Tyree Jackson, who pushed them past Midland Dow in the District Finals 41-14, with 250 total yards through the air and on the ground with three touchdowns.

The winner of the game Friday will play at a neutral site for the State Semifinals.

Division 2 - Region 1
