Regional Bound – HS Football Scores-Playoffs-Week 2

For the first time since 1983, the Lakeview Spartans move on to the Regional Finals in the MHSAA football playoffs, shutting down the Portage Northern Huskies 21-0 at Spartans Memorial Stadium. Dre Kemp would score all three times, two from one-yard out and the other from four yards. Kemp would finish with 109 yards on 21 carries on the night for the Spartans (9-1), who will travel to Muskegon to take on the Mona Shores Sailors in next week's Division 2-Region 1 final.

The Spartans gained 289 yards as a team on the night including running back Malik Shrad's 107 yards and quarterback Skyler Nichols' 77 yards, with 54 coming from a single carry. Lakeview's defense was able to keep the Huskies off the board while allowing 286 yards and forcing just one turnover.
