After two storms and over three hours in a delay, our High School Football game this week finally got underway and still finished before midnight. After the droves of Harper Creek Beavers fans showed for the original 7pm kick-off, roughly 50 or so stayed and survived the storm and watched their home team knock off the Jackson Northwest Mounties 10-0. After a scoreless first half, the Beavers used a nine-play, 56-yard drive to reach the scoreboard on an 18-yard field goal.

The Mounties would then fumble on their own five-yard line, giving the Beavers a shot at pay dirt. They would capitalize with a 5-yard run from Caleb Hayes in the fourth quarter to conclude the scoring.

Only two other games took place, with one being a forfeit. All the other games were made up on Saturday except for Lakeview-Portage Central, which will go as no contest and they will complete 8-game schedules.
