A Homecoming Thriller – HS Football Scores-Week 6
It came down to one play, a risky one at that, and the Battle Creek Central Bearcats provided the answer at the one-yard line.
Facing a 21-7 lead early in the fourth quarter, the Gull Lake Blue Devils went to the air and came back to score twice, including the potential tying TD with four seconds left. Instead, the Blue Devils would go for two on a quarterback sneak and fall a yard short, giving the Bearcats at 21-20 victory in our High School Football Game of the Night.
Cyntrell Williams scored two rushing touchdowns, including a 47-yard streak for the Bearcats' (4-2) final score. He would run the ball 12 times for 108 yards. David Turner would add a two-yard score that was set up by a 48-yard pass from Julieon Cooper to Michael Pettis.
For the Blue Devils, senior quarterback Seth Eldridge threw three touchdown passes, two to Louis Remynse, going 10-for-17 for 72 yards. He also ran 18 times for 83 yards. Colby Schram caught the final touchdown for the Devils (2-4).
Here are the rest of the scores, as all five city teams were victorious this week.
