HS Football: Spartans And Bearcats Battle Again

Week 3 of the High School Football season should be a dandy, as we make our way back to C.W. Post Field for the 53rd edition of the Battle Creek Central Bearcats and the Lakeview Spartans.

The Bearcats have had high hopes after a 5-4 season last year but stumbled in their first two games of the season against Stevensville-Lakeshore and Benton Harbor, who snapped a 20-game skid with last week's 14-9 victory. Heading into tonight, the Bearcats also look to find some offense against the Spartans, only scoring a touchdown in the last four meetings and being outscored 146-7 in that time.

The Spartans have been in two tight battles to begin the year, topping Portage Northern 12-6 in Week 1 before falling to Portage Central 28-21 in our Game of the Week September 3rd.

As always, you can throw the records out the window when it comes to cross-town rivalries, and we hope to have an all-out battle on the turf tonight. The Bearcats currently own a 29-23 series lead heading into tonight.
