HS Football: Redhawks Roll The Panthers
It was a night that threatened rain and lightning. The lightning struck early and often for the visiting Marshall Redhawks. After scoring on their first drive, the Redhawks would get a punt return for a touchdown to pull ahead within the first six minutes of the game. They would eventually run away with a 49-7 victory over the Pennfield Panthers in our Week 4 Game of the Night.
Marshall (3-1) would score four more times in the second quarter, heading to the locker room with a 42-0 lead. With the running clock in effect in the second half, the Redhawks would tabulate one more score before the Panthers would receive their only touchdown.
Senior running back Forrest Jackson would rush for 136 yards on 14 carries and a score for the Redhawks. Senior fullback Chris Upright scored twice on seven carries, running for 75 yards on the night. Upright also made seven tackles on defense.
Sophomore running back Grant Petersen would grab three passes for 75 yards for the usually dominate rushing Panthers (1-3). As a team, Pennfield attained just one yard on the ground on the night.
Here are the rest of the scores, which include several suspended games due to lightning.
