With the holiday weekend behind us, city crews began a new round of projects Monday night.

The City of Battle Creek says that their annual hydrant flushing program began Monday night, and is expected to take place up through Thursday night, between the hours of 10pm and 6am. Residents in the city might experience cloudy or rusty water while this takes place, but the city says this should not affect water safety, so if you experience that they recommend running cold water through your taps for a short time.

Also beginning Tuesday will be water main replacement on numbered streets, and that kicks off on N. 25th St. between Highland and Territorial. The road will be closed to through traffic during this work, which is expected to wrap up in mid-July.
