Injury Avoided In Albion Train Collission

Serious injuries were narrowly avoided in Albion last night when a van got stuck on railroad tracks.

It happened shortly before 7 when the driver left the Albion College parking lot on Huron Street and accidentally drove onto a sidewalk and then on to the railroad tracks.

The engineer of an eastbound freight train managed to stop the train just in time and only slightly damaged the van.

No injuries were reported.
