Michigan officials and the DNR are urging fishers to check their bait pails for juvenile carp, this summer. The Associated Press reports that while the invasive species are easy to recognize as adults, when they are young they can easily be confused with common bait fish. Bait is sometimes transported across state lines from places with breeding populations of Asian carp, which officials are trying to keep out of the Great Lakes.
