Summer is just about over, as evidenced by the temperature drop on Sunday. Fall begins September 21st. Here in Michigan, we have something special - Fall Colors. You don't have to be a photographer to enjoy the fall colors, but now that virtually everyone is a photographer, thanks to their smartphone, it's time to get out there and experience the colors, not just look at them on a phone screen.

MLive has posted a calendar/map graphic as to when the colors will peak around the state. It's a great getaway weekend, and while some places may charge you, some places may have deals and be happy for the business; maybe something along or near Lake Michigan.

Around these parts, the maps says the colors should peak at the end of October, but with as lousy as Halloween weather usually is, you might try to do it in mid October, just to be safe.
