Jewelry Store Robbed In Portage

The Portage Police are searching for a group of people who robbed a jewelry store last night.

Around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, three men covered in hoodies entered the Jared store, which was open at the time, in the 6300 block of South Westnedge Avenue, and began smashing display cases then taking the jewelry inside.

It’s not known at this time the value of the items stolen.

Authorities don’t have a description of the suspects yet, but they will be studying surveillance tapes for more information.  If you have any information on the robbery, you are asked to contact the Portage Department of Public Safety or Silent Observer.
