Jim Harbaugh On Coming Back To Michigan: It Was A Decision I Made ‘With My Heart’

The University of Michigan introduced former Wolverines quarterback Jim Harbaugh as its 20th head coach on Tuesday.

The new head man in Ann Arbor said returning to his alma mater was something he had "dreamed about since I was a young lad," adding that the decision to come back was one he made "with my heart."

Harbaugh, 51, mutually agreed to part ways with the San Francisco 49ers after four seasons on Sunday. He had been Michigan's top target after firing former head coach Brady Hoke 27 days ago.

Multiple media reports throughout Michigan's courting of Harbaugh suggested the Wolverines were offering their prized candidate a six-year $48 million offer. Harbaugh ended up signing a five-year $35 million contract, saying he wanted to leave more money available to pay assistant coaches.
