A Kalamazoo man was arrested on Sunday, after an alleged shooting and car crash.

MLive reports that the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says they received reports of shots fired in the 4200 block of Lakesedge Dr; as officers arrived at the scene, they saw a gray Mercury leaving, but initially didn’t connect it to the shooting.

Shortly after, however, that Mercury crashed in the 2300 block of Stadium Dr, and the driver attempted to flee on foot. After a brief struggle with officers, the 27-year-old Kalamazoo man was taken into custody; inside the car, an unregistered pistol and drugs were found, so the man was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, resisting and obstructing, and hit and run, along with weapons charges.

It’s unclear if this man was involved with the shots fired report that initially called police to the scene.
