A Kalamazoo teen has been killed, after a familial argument escalated.

Authorities responded to a home in the 1400 block of Lane Boulevard around 2:45pm Wednesday on shots fired reports.  Inside the home, a young man was found shot and was pronounced dead.

The victim, identified as 17-year-old Temetrion Hegler, had apparently been having an argument with his step-grandfather, 53-year-old Bruce Embry, over school, when Embry allegedly pulled out a gun and shot him.

Temetrion was a student at Loy Norrix High School.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing at this time.
