Kara Mead Joins Southern Michigan Bank and Trust

Kara Mead is Southern Michigan Bank and Trust's new Vice President / Commercial Loan Officer and Marshall Branch Manager.   

Kara began her banking career over nineteen years ago as Assistant Manager of Bank One in Battle Creek. For the past fifteen years, Kara had been developing business and building customer relationships as the Financial Center Manager at Fifth Third Bank in Battle Creek. She studied Business Management and has been the recipient of several banking awards recognizing her excellent customer service skills, sales growth and profitability, and leadership in employee management. Her responsibilities will include commercial lending and business development within the Calhoun County market and management of branch operations for Southern’s branch in Marshall.

Mead has been a resident of Calhoun County for sixteen years along with her husband, Tony, a Battle Creek native, and their two children. She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, volunteered at the Food Bank of Southwest Michigan, and taught many financial education classes through various avenues some of which were within the school system, The Haven of Rest, KPEP, and the Regional Manufacturing Technology Center in Battle Creek.
