The Kellogg Community College Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of a new nursing scholarship made possible through the generosity of local resident Bernita Bartlett.

The Bernita Bartlett Endowed Nursing Scholarship provides a yearly scholarship to a student studying nursing at Kellogg Community College. This scholarship is open to all full- and part-time students, regardless of residency. Students must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average.

Bartlett established the scholarship in memory of her mother, Mildred Hammer, who had a great interest in the nursing profession.

Recently, members of the KCC nursing instructional staff and students welcomed Bartlett to KCC's North Avenue campus, where she observed nursing students demonstrating procedures in the college's simulation lab. She was presented a certificate of appreciation by then-President Dr. Dennis Bona.

The KCC Foundation has awarded more than 350 scholarships for the 2015-16 academic year, promoting the mission to enhance the quality of education while building stronger communities. Thanks to Bartlett's generosity, students have even more opportunities to reach their educational goals.
