BATTLE CREEK, Oct. 21, 2015 -- Nurse Aide students who need to take their certification test to become Certified Nursing Assistants can now do so on Kellogg Community College's North Avenue campus in Battle Creek.

For eligible CNA students who have graduated from KCC's program within 60 days of testing, a new scholarship offered through the KCC and Battle Creek Community foundations also is available to cover the testing fees.

Students who have completed their Nurse Aide training and would like to sign up for certification testing at KCC may do so through the Prometric testing service website at www.prometric.com/en-us/clients/nurseaide/pages/mi.aspx.

Students who have completed their Nurse Aide training at KCC and would like to apply for the KCC Nurse Aide Training Certification Testing Scholarship can download and complete the application on KCC's website at www.kellogg.edu/nurses-aid-training.

Nursing assistants provide basic care services under the direction of nursing staff, including feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming and moving patients. Graduates who test for and receive their CNA designation often work in nursing care facilities, assisted living centers or as home health care aides.

KCC's Nurse Aide Training Program is the perfect fit for students who are interested in a career in health care and want to start working in the field as soon as possible. The program introduces students to the health care field and qualifies graduates to test for their CNA certification to pursue employment opportunities in as little as three weeks.

KCC offers the program throughout the year on campuses in Battle Creek, Albion and Coldwater in expedited three-week or full-semester options for students with varying schedules.

The next Nurse Aide Training Program cohort at KCC will be held on the North Avenue campus in Battle Creek and will begin Monday, Oct. 26, which also is the first day of registration for Spring 2016 semester classes at the College. Students interested in signing up for the Oct. 26 Nurse Aide class, which runs through Nov. 12, should contact a KCC Academic Advisor at 269-965-4124 for more information.
