After winning their first-ever Michigan Community College Athletic Association conference title in softball, the Kellogg Community College Bruins will have to work out of the loser's bracket in hopes of winning a district title.

The National Junior College Athletic Association's Region XII-District I Tournament began Wednesday in East Lansing, as the Bruins fell to the Sinclair Community College (OH) Tartan Pride 3-2. Trailing 3-0 in the seventh inning, the Bruins would score twice to put together a comeback that would fall just short.

Kelsey Konkol (Homer) and Anorah Seita (Galesburg-Augusta) drove in the two runs for the Bruins, while Holly VanTillburg (Paw Paw) allowed all three runs and struck out seven in a complete game showing.

KCC will look to get by the Muskegon Community College Jayhawks this afternoon at Noon at Abbott Park. A win will advanced them to a battle against the Lansing Community College Stars or the Kalamazoo Valley Community College Cougars at 2pm. Another win there would give them a third game today at 4pm.
