Lakeview Cinemas Changes Management Group

Wow!  This could be a good thing, especially considering some bad publicity in recent months at Battle Creek's Mall Theater.

Lakeview Square Mall owner GK Development, Inc. and NCG Cinemas today announced that NCG Cinemas is the new operator for the mall’s ten screen theater, and that the Owosso, Michigan- based firm will soon begin an extensive renovation of the theater.

“NCG Cinemas is focused on bringing the NCG experience to Battle Creek where we expect to exceed consumers’ expectations of the movie going experience. Lakeview Square Mall’s excellent location and favorable demographics are the right criteria for operating another location in our home state of Michigan,” said Jeff Geiger, chief executive officer of NCG Cinemas.

“NCG Cinemas is committed to bringing affordable entertainment to the Battle Creek area. Our theaters are recognized for offering consumer friendly amenities such as free refills on all sizes of soft drinks and popcorn,” Geiger added.

While renovation plans are still being finalized, improvements are expected to include complete auditorium remodels, a renovated lobby and enhanced concession options. NCG expects to unveil more details soon. Work is expected to begin in January with the renovated theater opening in early spring.
