It's no secret that Battle Creek's Mall theater needed a little work.  Ok....a total makeover!

After a lot of negative talk about the condition of the theater at Lakeview Square Mall last year, mall owner GK Development Inc. gave the former theater operator the boot and brought in NCG Cinemas.  The new operator runs theaters in Lansing, Coldwater, Midland, Owosso and a few other places.

Workmen are finishing the installation of new, plush seating and the renovated theater is set to open Friday, April 29 with shows starting at 10 a.m.   The next big event will be on Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m, as the blockbuster “Captain America: Civil War” opens.

The remodeled facility includes ten renovated theaters, luxury high back and rocker seats, new digital projectors with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound systems and a new lobby with multiple concession areas, all wrapped up in a new look.

In a press release last January, Jeff Geiger, CEO of NCG Cinemas said, “NCG Cinemas is focused on bringing the NCG experience to Battle Creek where we expect to exceed consumers’ expectations of the movie going experience. Lakeview Square Mall’s excellent location and favorable demographics are the right criteria for operating another location in our home state of Michigan."
