We head to the hardwood for this week's Lassen Athlete of the Week.

Athens senior Jenny Smittendorf scored a game-high 12 points against Jonesville in a two-point loss on January 22nd. Even though the team came up short, the second-year captain of the Indians has helped them to a 9-2 record on the season. She is a three-sport athlete and a Big 8 Conference Academic All-Conference six times.

What goes unnoticed is Jenny's involvement off the court. She's a member of the National Honor Society, Michigan Youth In Government, Youth Advisory Club, Student Council and Students Against Drugs. Jenny is also Editor-In-Chief of the school yearbook and voted by fellow classmates as Homecoming Queen last fall.

She also is a youth basketball camp advisor and has put in over 130 hours of community service, and involved in the Athens Youth Council.

Congratulations Jenny on becoming our latest Lassen Automotive Athlete of the Week.
