A relief program meant to assist those behind on their property taxes due to having suffered a financial hardship is set to expire on December 31 this year. Calhoun County Treasurer Christine Schauer tells The Richard Piet Show online applications for assistance should be completed right away in order to be submitted before the deadline.

Schauer discussed the scope of the delinquent tax issue on Thursday's Richard Piet Show, illustrating how quickly delinquent tax amounts - coupled with fees and interest charges - can snowball.
