The Detroit Lions announced on Tuesday afternoon that the team has added running back Zach Zenner and wide receiver Bruce Ellington to the team's 53-man roster, while waiving running back Ameer Abdullah.

Zenner was cut at the end of training camp this year after spending the last three seasons with the team.  Ellington replaces WR Andy Jones on the roster, who was waived yesterday.

Abdullah (pictured) was a 2nd round pick out of Nebraska in 2015, and was projected to be the Lions running back of the future.  But ineffectiveness and fumbling problems plagued his time in Detroit.  He appeared in only three of the team's game this season.
