I used to dream about being the Detroit Lions’ quarterback.  Most people think I might have done a better job than some of them. The neighbor girl used to say she was going to be a Dallas Cowboy's cheerleader.  I said what about a Detroit Lion's cheerleader?  She said, “They don’t have cheerleaders, stupid”    Well, they do now…..50 years later!   I think she'd have about as much chance of getting the job as this guy:

The Lions announced on Monday that they’ll hold cheerleader tryouts on Saturday June 25th at Ford Field. That will leave six NFL teams without cheerleading squads: the Bills, Bears, Browns, Packers, Giants and Steelers.

Registration is required ($25) and information is available by clicking here or by calling (313) 262-2300.

Cheerleader tryouts are not open to the public.

The team has hired the former director of the Pistons “Automation” team.  Some teams, including the Lions, have had unofficial cheerleading teams, but starting this August, the Detroit Lions will have official cheerleaders on the sidelines and making appearances in the community.
