BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) — A newspaper says a bag of cremated remains handled by a company in southwestern Michigan was discovered on a beach in Scotland.
The Battle Creek Enquirer  says it was contacted Friday by a woman who found the bag, which had a five-digit tag that said Central Michigan Crematory Battle Creek.
The crematory is run by Brutsche Concrete Products. Mickey Brutsche says ashes end up in unusual spots a "couple of times a year," but he has no idea why the bag was on a beach near Inverness, Scotland.
He knows the identity through an ID number on the bag and plans to contact the funeral home that handled the service.
