The Michigan Department of Transportation will begin reconstructing I-94 in Jackson County, replacing the bridge over the Grand River, rebuilding the I-94/Cooper Street interchange with roundabouts, and resurfacing M-106 from I-94 to Ganson Street.

Work is expected to begin Monday July 9 at 7 a.m. with construction taking place in stages to minimize the disruption to motorists and residents. Initial work will be completed using daytime shoulder closures and nightly lane closures along I-94 between Sargent Road and M-60. The project is estimated to be completed in November 23 of 2019.

M-DOT says this project will provide motorists with a smoother and safer driving surface, while the roundabouts will improve safety and traffic movement through the interchange.
