I have been saying for over a year now, that the two most important things we as a nation must be concerned about is our national security and jobs.

Every other social and welfare issue people want comes after those two issues, as far as I am concerned.  You cannot have a great country without national security and jobs, good jobs, which will generate the tax base to pay for our national security, and all the other welfare programs people are asking for.

To me it is pretty simple. Am I missing something here?

There are three new articles published yesterday confirming my concern about the two most important issues of the upcoming Presidential election.

The first one was published by the Arizona Public Media (an NPR site), stating that there is a “New Surge of Central Americans Seen on Border”.  Yuma (Arizona) Sheriff's Capt. Eben Bratcher was quoted in the article stating:

"They’re not what you would consider a typical border crosser," said. "Many of these people are from other nations, other than Mexico. Central America, Chinese, Romanians are a big one right now, and so that’s kind of a change in what we’ve come to expect here."

The second article was published in The Washington Free Beacon, titled “Oversight Report: Foreign Nations Still Not Sharing Info on Terrorists With U.S.”.  In that article we are informed that “More than a third of foreign nations participating in the U.S. visa waiver program are failing to share the identity of potential terrorists with the U.S. government, according to a new government report”.

In most cases we have no idea who is coming into our country, both legally and illegally.  We must get control over our border and Visa program to ensure the safety of all of us: our wives, husbands, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, uncle, aunts, cousins, friends, co-workers, neighbors and fellow citizens.

The third article published in USA Today quotes the Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen, stating that Friday’s “dismal” jobs report was “concerning” but “policymakers still plan to gradually raise rates”.

The problem is many business experts believe that raising rates will help with inflation, but could also hurt the economy.  It will certainly raise the interest cost our country has to pay on any new money we borrow to continue our deficit spending, and to pay off old debt coming due.

Again, it is vitally important that we do not get bogged down by the fringe issues and he-said-she-said arguments, and be concerned about what is vitally important to the health and sustainability of our country.

That is national security and jobs!

You must ask yourself, what party you believe is stronger on national defense, and which party will foster an environment to create a strong economy which will raise our incomes and create better paying jobs.

You must ask yourself, which candidate you believe will be stronger on national defense, and foster an environment to create a strong economy which will raise our incomes and create better paying jobs.

Would that be Hillary, or Trump?

Let’s talk about this today on The Live with Renk Show which airs Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to noon. To let me know your thoughts during the show please call (269) 441-9595.
