A Kalamazoo man was arrested early Thursday morning after he allegedly crashed his vehicle into a tree in downtown Kalamazoo while high.

WOODTV reports that the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says that just before 1am Thursday, officers responded to a single vehicle crash in the 200 block of N. Rose St. It appears that the vehicle drove onto the median and hit a large tree, knocking it over.

The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries; a search of the vehicle turned up a stolen firearm and drugs. The 40-year-old man will be facing charges of carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, and driving under the influence of drugs.
