A man who police say was breaking into cars was discovered in the hospital in Battle Creek.

Around 5am Thursday, the Battle Creek Police Department says that officers were called to the area of Calhoun St. and Chestnut St, on reports of a subject breaking into vehicles. No suspect was found, but with eyewitness reports and a K-9 track, the suspect was located in the lobby of Bronson Battle Creek.

The suspect was arrested, with some stolen property in his possession, and lodged at the Calhoun County Jail on felony charges. Officers say that stolen items were returned to the victims.

It’s unclear why the man was at the hospital.
