Man Arrested In Crime Spree

A man has been jailed, following a crime spree that took place in Kalamazoo County, Tuesday.

According to Newschannel 3, Matthew Steppenwolf is suspected of committing several crimes, including shooting a woman in the chest, narrowly missing her heart.

The crime spree began with an armed robbery at a Citgo Gas Station, in Comstock Township, where he demanded 10 dollars’ worth of gas. He then went to a home in Kalamazoo, shooting Betty Jo Brewer in the chest. He left the woman, throwing a Molotov cocktail at the home. Steppenwolf then committed a carjacking and eventually crashed the car into a tree near the rural town of Scotts.

Steppenwolf was arrested and is expected to be arraigned on Thursday.
