Man Arrested, Suspected of Shooting Mother

A man is in jail after authorities say he shot his mother yesterday morning.  Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene on J Drive North in Sheridan Township Monday but by the time they got there the people involved had fled.  Investigators say the victim escaped in her car after being shot by her 39-year-old son and was taken by a third party to the hospital in Marshall; she is expected to recover. The suspect was tracked down and arrested in Albion and is being held on Assault with Intent to Murder charges.
